Dane Sanvido, Owner, General Manager/Winemaker

Dane is an internationally experienced winemaker with nearly 26 harvests to his name. Originally from South Africa, he earned his degree in Enology and Pomology from the University of Stellenbosch before crafting wines across the globe in regions including South Africa, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, California, Missouri, and Texas.

His work in diverse environments and with a wide range of winemaking techniques and equipment has given him both the expertise to design a state-of-the-art winery and the confidence to showcase lesser-known grape varietals, bringing them to the forefront of the Untamed portfolio.

Mckenzie Sanvido, Owner, Wine Chemist/Tasting Room Manager

Mckenzie is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, holding degrees in Biology and Analytical Chemistry. She gained international research experience in Chemical Ecology through an NSF grant and fellowship, conducting fieldwork and chemical analysis in Brazil and Costa Rica. In 2018, she was honored with the title of Young Alumni for her achievements.

After college, Mckenzie discovered her passion for the wine industry while working with Constellation Brands and various wine laboratories across Sonoma, New Zealand, and Monterey. Inspired by this experience, she and Dane founded The Lab Pros, the first commercial wine laboratory serving California’s Central Coast and Texas.

While working at Untamed and stepping in for a short-staffed kitchen, Mckenzie discovered a passion for the culinary arts. From creating dough to developing recipes, she put her skills to the test—culminating in winning third place in the world at the 2024 International Pizza Competition in Las Vegas, competing against 500 other participants.

Today, Mckenzie manages The Lab Pros and oversees the kitchen at Untamed Wine Estates, bringing her expertise and dedication to both wine and culinary excellence.
